The Easiest DIY Ever! And a Giveaway!

**This Giveaway is closed**
I am so overwhelmed! On the last post I was hoping to hit 700 views. Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick featured me on her blog and oh my goodness! In just 24 hours there were almost 1,000 views! Thank you so much to all of my first-time friends!

Now to share a really fun DIY project! The other day I made spaghetti and was throwing away the jar when I stopped myself. Why throw away a perfectly good glass jar? Its not glamorous but it could be useful, right?! Maybe I keep too much "trash."
So I cut a translucent piece of scrapbook paper that I love and stuck it to the sticky spot from the label.
I wrapped it around the jar and taped it in place.
Then I started thinking about what I could use this for. And it hit me! We have a plain jar in our office with change in it. We plan to use the change/small bills to buy supplies for the basement/house. So I grabbed a couple of scrapbooking embellishments and popped them on there using some scotch tape.
It needed just a little bit more...so I tied a ribbon around the top. Then I dumped our change in there and its so cute!
Seriously guys...this was super quick and I love the way it turned out! I will probably have these all over our house! I'm sure the hubby would stop me if I got carried away...guess we'll see!

So.... a giveaway! Here's how we will do this. I am going to make one of these for one of you. For free! What I need you to do is comment on here what you would use a cutie little jar for! Pencils? Kitchen stuff? Flowers? Let me know! Inspire me! And then tweet this...share it on FB...link it up. Whatever you do! Share it with a friend! I will announce the winner on Sunday and you can email me what colors you would like. Then I will create one of these for you! For fa-ree! :) Love you guys!

  1. For myself, I would probably use it as a jar for ribbon scraps or paint brushes in my office. But, my lil man, 20 months, LOVES to put change in his piggy bank. So, I could use one as a birthday party fund jar for him. Cute idea!

  2. Great idea,I have a few projects that I could use a jar or two for saving up in. Having it look so pretty and out where you can actually see it would be a great incentive.

  4. This is a wicked idea! I am so crazy with keeping jars and never finding a use for them. We went to the dump a few months ago and I found a box full of lovely, old fashioned jars with glass lids. I decided to take all 20 home ( against my husband's wishes ) and later that week found the same jars in an antique store for $20 each! I'm keeping them though...they are too lovely to part with!

My color choices would be red and brown and I would keep it in my bathroom and fill it with hair barrettes and clips!

  7. I love this! I always feel guilty when I throw away glass jars, this was such a cute idea! I would also use this for change. My husband is currently using the counter top on the bar in my kitchen to catch our change, it would be great to have a vessel to put the loose change in!

  22. This is such a cute and "easy-peasy" project and your recycling, too! I think I use the same sauce and the jar really does have a cute shape, even a bit of design at the top. We tend to go through a lot of peanut butter, so I had amassed a bunch of those. I've used some in my sewing/craft room (aka: My Playroom) & simply painted the lids white. Several others I used for those layered mixes (like for cookies) & decorated the outside and made tags with the instructions. They made super cute gifts. I'm a new follower because your blog looks like it's going to be fun.

  25. So cute! And a great idea to have a bunch of young ones creat gifts for someone they love. I would use it as a change jar to save up to visit my 1st granddaughter. I'm in Or & her and her mommy & Daddy are in Tx. Gotta save all I can to go see her as much as I can! Thanks For the great idea!
